Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place base unit on a flat, stable surface away from electronic interference.

  1. Connect telephone line: Plug one end of telephone line cord into base unit TEL LINE jack, other end into wall telephone jack.
  2. Connect power: Plug AC adapter into base unit DC IN 9V jack and into electrical outlet.
  3. Install battery in handset: Insert rechargeable battery into handset battery compartment, connect terminals, close cover.
  4. Charge handset: Place handset on base unit charger; charge for at least 7 hours before first use.

WARNING! Use only supplied Panasonic AC adapter and battery. Do not expose to water or extreme temperatures.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on and configure basic settings.

  1. Set time and date: Press MENU on handset, select SETTINGS > DATE & TIME, enter current date and time.
  2. Set language: In SETTINGS menu, select LANGUAGE, choose ENGLISH (default).
  3. Register additional handsets: Place new handset on base, press and hold PAGE on base until IN USE light flashes, then press and hold # on handset until registration confirmed.
  4. Set answering machine: Press ANS ON/OFF on base to turn on; record outgoing message by pressing MEMO/OGM.

CAUTION! Ensure proper ventilation around base unit; do not cover during operation.

Connecting Devices

Telephone line: Standard RJ11 jack. Headset: 2.5mm jack on handset.

  1. Turn off power before connecting additional devices.
  2. For headset: Plug 2.5mm headset into handset jack; audio automatically routes to headset when connected.
  3. For additional handsets: Register as described in First-Time Setup.

Tip: Use surge protector for telephone line to protect against power surges.

Using the Answering Machine

Digital answering machine with remote access capability.

  1. Turn on/off: Press ANS ON/OFF on base.
  2. Record outgoing message: Press and hold MEMO/OGM, speak after beep, release when finished.
  3. Play messages: Press PLAY/SKIP on base or remotely from handset (press INTERCOM then 3).
  4. Skip/delete messages: Press SKIP to skip, DELETE to delete during playback.
  5. Remote retrieval: Dial your number from outside, after outgoing message plays, enter remote code (default 0000) to listen to messages.
  6. Set rings: Menu > ANSWERING MACHINE > NUMBER OF RINGS (2, 3, 4, 5, or TOL).

WARNING! Do not disconnect power while answering machine is recording or playing messages.

Advanced Features

Call Block: Add numbers via menu (CALL BLOCK) or from call log; up to 250 numbers. Intercom: Press INTERCOM on one handset, then dial handset number (1-6) to call; press TALK to answer. ECO Mode: Reduces power when handset near base; enable/disable in menu.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug power before cleaning. Wipe handset and base with soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION! Battery: Replace only with Panasonic AAA Ni-MH rechargeable battery. Dispose of old battery properly.
