Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Choose a central location for the base unit.

  1. Charge the handset: Insert battery into handset, place on base unit charger for 7 hours.
  2. Connect the base: Plug the AC adapter into the base and a wall outlet. Connect the telephone line cord from the base to your wall phone jack.
  3. Install additional handsets: Place on their chargers and register to the base (see manual).
  4. Check for dial tone: Pick up handset and press TALK/FLASH; you should hear a dial tone.

WARNING! Use only the provided Panasonic AC adapter and battery. Do not disassemble or short-circuit the battery.

First-Time Setup

After installation, configure basic settings.

  1. Set date and time: Press MENU on handset, navigate to SETTINGS > DATE & TIME.
  2. Set area code: In SETTINGS menu, enter your local area code for proper call log display.
  3. Set answering machine: Press ANS/PLAY on base to record your outgoing message (OGM).
  4. Register handsets: For new handsets, press and hold PAGE on base until IN USE light flashes, then press # on handset within 60 seconds.

Connecting Devices

Base connects to telephone wall jack. Can connect to a DSL filter if using DSL internet service.

  1. Ensure phone is unplugged from power before connecting line cord.
  2. Connect telephone line cord from base unit TEL LINE jack to wall jack.
  3. If using DSL, connect a DSL filter between the wall jack and the base unit.
  4. Plug AC adapter into base and electrical outlet.

Tip: For best performance, place base unit at least 1 meter away from routers, microwaves, or other wireless devices.

Using the Answering Machine

Digital answering system with remote access.

  1. Record Outgoing Message (OGM): Press and hold ANS/PLAY on base until beep, speak message, release button.
  2. Set Ring Count: Press MENU on handset > ANSWERING SYSTEM > RINGS TO ANSWER.
  3. Play Messages: Press ANS/PLAY on base or handset. Use VOLUME to adjust playback level.
  4. Remote Access: Call your number, after OGM plays, enter your remote access code (default: 0000).
  5. Delete Messages: Press DELETE during or after playback.
  6. Turn On/Off: Press ANS ON/OFF on base.

WARNING! Do not use the answering machine during an electrical storm to avoid damage.
