Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on flat surface away from electronic interference.

  1. Connect telephone line: Plug line cord from wall jack to TEL LINE port on base.
  2. Connect power: Plug AC adapter into base unit and wall outlet.
  3. Install handset batteries: Insert provided Ni-MH batteries into each handset.
  4. Charge handsets: Place handsets on base unit or charger for 7 hours initial charge.

WARNING! Use only provided Panasonic AC adapter. Do not place near microwave ovens or other cordless phones.

First-Time Setup

After charging, power on handsets; follow prompts.

  1. Set time/date: Press MENU, select SETTINGS, then DATE/TIME.
  2. Set language: In SETTINGS menu, select ENGLISH (default).
  3. Register handsets: Handsets auto-register with base when placed in charger.
  4. Test call: Make test call to verify line connection.

Using the Answering Machine

  1. Record outgoing message: Press RECORD on base, speak after beep, press RECORD again.
  2. Set answer mode: Press ANSWER ON/OFF to turn machine on/off.
  3. Play messages: Press PLAY/STOP on base or handset.
  4. Remote retrieval: Call from outside line, enter 2-digit remote code (default 00).
  5. Delete messages: Press DELETE during playback.
  6. Set number of rings: Menu > ANSWERING MACHINE > RINGS (2, 4, 6, TOL).

WARNING! Do not disconnect power while recording or playing messages.

Intercom: Press INTERCOM on one handset, then number of other handset (1 or 2). Phonebook: Store up to 50 entries with name/number. Call Block: Block specific numbers in call block list. Redial: Press REDIAL to call last number dialed. Headset Mode: Plug in headset for hands-free operation.
