Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on a stable, central surface.

  1. Charge the handset: Insert battery into handset, place on base charger for 7 hours before first use.
  2. Connect telephone line: Plug the telephone line cord from the wall jack into the "TEL LINE" jack on the base.
  3. Connect power: Plug the AC adapter into the base unit and then into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  4. Install additional handsets (if applicable): Place on their chargers to register with the base.

WARNING! Use only the supplied Panasonic AC adapter and battery. Do not disassemble or short-circuit the battery.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the system and configure basic settings.

  1. Set date and time: Press MENU on handset, navigate to SETTINGS > DATE & TIME.
  2. Set language: In SETTINGS menu, select LANGUAGE (default is ENGLISH).
  3. Register handsets: New handsets will auto-register when placed on their charger. Manual registration is available via the base unit.
  4. Set answering machine greeting: Press ANS/PLAY on base, follow voice prompts to record your outgoing message.

CAUTION! Keep the base unit away from other electronic devices to avoid interference.

Access menus via the MENU button on the handset. Front Panel (Base): ANS/PLAY, VOLUME, DELETE, SKIP, RECORD.

Handset: TALK/FLASH, OFF, MENU, INTERCOM, PHONEBOOK, REDIAL, MUTE, VOLUME, Navigation arrows, Speakerphone.

Settings: Date/Time, Language, Ringer Tone/Volume, Keypad Tone, ECO Mode, Handset Registration. Answering Machine: Record Greeting, Set Number of Rings, Play Messages, Delete Messages. Phonebook: Add, Edit, Delete, Search entries.

Connecting to Telephone Line

Use the supplied telephone line cord to connect the base unit to a working wall jack.

  1. Ensure the base unit is not plugged into power.
  2. Plug one end of the line cord into the wall telephone jack.
  3. Plug the other end into the "TEL LINE" jack on the back of the base unit.
  4. Plug in the AC power adapter. A dial tone should be available on the handset.

Tip: If you have DSL internet, you may need to use a DSL filter on the line.

Using the Answering Machine

The digital answering machine records messages when you are unavailable.

  1. Turn on/off: Press ANS ON/OFF on base. Light indicates status.
  2. Record greeting: Press RECORD on base, speak after the beep, press RECORD again to stop.
  3. Set rings: Press MENU on base, select "RINGS TO ANSWER" (2, 4, 6, or Toll Saver).
  4. Play messages: Press ANS/PLAY on base. Use SKIP or REPEAT to navigate.
  5. Delete messages: Press DELETE during or after playback.
  6. Remote retrieval: Call your number, press * during your greeting, enter your remote code (default is 1111).

WARNING! Prevent data loss by not unplugging power during recording/playback.

Advanced Features

Intercom: Press INTERCOM on one handset, then the number of the target handset/base. Speakerphone: Press SPEAKERPHONE during a call. Phonebook: Store numbers with names via MENU > PHONEBOOK. Call Block: Register unwanted numbers to be rejected. Keypad Lock: Press and hold # to lock/unlock the handset keypad.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the AC adapter before cleaning. Wipe the handset and base with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

CAUTION! Keep the unit dry. Do not use in humid environments like bathrooms.
