Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place base unit on a flat, stable surface away from electronic interference.

  1. Connect telephone line: Plug one end of telephone line cord into base unit TEL LINE jack, other end into wall telephone jack.
  2. Connect power: Plug AC power adapter into base unit DC IN 9V jack and into electrical outlet.
  3. Install battery in handset: Insert battery pack into handset compartment, connect terminals, close cover.
  4. Charge handset: Place handset on base unit charger; charge for at least 7 hours before first use.

WARNING! Use only supplied Panasonic AC adapter and battery. Do not expose to water or extreme temperatures.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on and configure basic settings.

  1. Set date and time: Press MENU on handset, select SETTINGS > DATE & TIME, enter current date/time.
  2. Set language: In SETTINGS menu, select LANGUAGE (default is ENGLISH).
  3. Register handsets: Place new handset on base, press and hold HANDSET LOCATOR on base until IN USE light flashes.
  4. Set answering machine: Press ANS/PLAY on base to record outgoing message (OGM).

CAUTION! Ensure proper ventilation around base unit; do not cover during operation.

  3. For expansion handsets, register each handset following First-Time Setup instructions.

Using the Answering Machine

  1. Record Outgoing Message (OGM): Press ANS/PLAY on base, follow voice prompts.
  2. Set number of rings: MENU > ANSWERING MACHINE > NUMBER OF RINGS (2, 3, 4, or TEL ONLY).
  3. Play messages: Press ANS/PLAY on base or handset.
  4. Remote access: Call your number, after OGM plays, enter remote access code (default 0000).
  5. Delete messages: Press DELETE during playback.
  6. Turn on/off: Press ANSWER ON/OFF on base.

WARNING! Do not disconnect power while answering machine is recording or playing messages.

Advanced Features

Call Block: Add numbers via CALL BLOCK button or menu. Intercom: Press INTERCOM, enter handset number. Eco Mode: Reduces power when handset is on base. Caller ID: Requires subscription from phone service provider.
