Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on flat surface away from electronic interference.

  1. Charge handset: Insert battery into handset, place on base charger for 7 hours before first use.
  2. Connect telephone line: Plug line cord from wall jack to TEL LINE jack on base.
  3. Connect power: Plug AC adapter into base unit and wall outlet.
  4. Install belt clip: Attach to handset if desired.

WARNING! Use only supplied Panasonic adapter and battery. Do not disassemble or short-circuit battery.

First-Time Setup

Power on base; handset will automatically register.

  1. Set date/time: Press MENU on handset, select SETTINGS > DATE/TIME.
  2. Set language: In SETTINGS menu, select LANGUAGE (default ENGLISH).
  3. Program phonebook: Press DIR button, follow prompts to add entries.

Connecting Devices

Telephone line: Standard RJ11 cord. Headset: 2.5mm jack on handset.

  3. For headset, insert plug into handset jack during standby mode.

Tip: Use surge protector for telephone line to prevent damage from power surges.

Using the Answering Machine

Supports incoming message recording and remote retrieval.

  1. Activate: Press ANS ON/OFF on base (light on).
  2. Record greeting: Press REC, speak after beep, press REC again to stop.
  3. Play messages: Press PLAY/STOP on base or handset (in phone mode).
  4. Delete messages: Press DELETE during playback.
  5. Remote access: Dial your number from outside, after greeting press * and enter remote code (default 0000).
  6. Set rings: Slide switch on base to 2, 4, 6, or TOL (toll saver).

WARNING! Do not disconnect power while answering machine is recording or playing.

Ringer Volume: Adjust in SETTINGS menu (High/Med/Low). Hearing Aid Compatible: Rated M3/T3. Visual Ringer Indicator: Flashing LED on handset for incoming calls.
