Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on a flat, stable surface away from electronic interference.

  1. Connect the telephone line: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the base unit and the other end into your wall telephone jack.
  2. Charge the handset: Place the handset on the base unit cradle to charge for at least 7 hours before first use.
  3. Connect power: Plug the AC power adapter into the DC IN 9V jack on the base and into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
  4. Install the belt clip (optional): Attach to the back of the handset.

WARNING! Use only the provided Panasonic AC adapter. Do not place near water or heat sources.

First-Time Setup

After charging, power on the handset; follow prompts.

  1. Set date and time: Press MENU, navigate to SETTINGS > DATE & TIME, and enter current information.
  2. Register additional handsets (if any): Place new handset on the base, press and hold the PAGE button on the base until the handset beeps and shows "Registered".
  3. Set up answering machine: Press MENU on the base, navigate to ANS MACHINE > GREETING to record your outgoing message.
  4. Program phonebook: Press MENU on handset, go to PHONEBOOK > ADD ENTRY to store names and numbers.

CAUTION! Ensure the base unit is not placed in an enclosed cabinet to allow proper ventilation and signal transmission.

Connecting Devices

Telephone Line: Use provided cord to wall jack. Headset: Plug 2.5mm headset into handset jack.

  1. Ensure phone is off (handset on base) before connecting line cord.
  2. For headset use, plug in while handset is idle.
  3. To connect a fax machine or modem, use a two-line splitter on the wall jack (not provided).

Tip: For best performance, avoid placing base unit near microwave ovens, routers, or other cordless phones.

Using the Answering Machine

Digital system with remote access.

  1. Turn on/off: Press ANS ON/OFF on base.
  2. Record greeting: Press and hold REC/OGM, speak after beep, release button.
  3. Play messages: Press PLAY/MSG on base or handset.
  4. Delete messages: Press DELETE during or after playback.
  5. Remote access: Dial your number from outside, when greeting plays, enter your remote access code (default: 0000) to hear messages.
  6. Announce Only mode: Plays greeting but does not record messages.

WARNING! Do not disconnect power or telephone line while answering machine is in use to avoid losing messages.

Accessibility Features

Ringer Volume: Adjustable in 5 levels. Tone: Multiple ringer melodies. Hearing Aid Compatible: Rated M3/T3. Speed Dial: Store up to 9 numbers for quick dialing. Large Backlit Buttons: Easier to see and press.
