Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on a flat, stable surface.

  1. Charge the handset: Connect the AC adapter to the base and plug into power outlet. Place handset on base to charge for at least 7 hours before first use.
  2. Connect telephone line: Plug the telephone line cord into the LINE jack on the base unit and then into your wall telephone jack.
  3. Install battery: Insert the supplied battery into the handset, aligning the polarity (+/-).
  4. Turn on power: The power/charge indicator on the base should light up.

WARNING! Use only the supplied Panasonic AC adapter and battery. Do not place near water or heat sources.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the handset and follow prompts.

  1. Set date and time: Press MENU, navigate to SETTINGS > DATE & TIME, and enter current information.
  2. Register handset to base: Handset should auto-register. If not, press and hold the PAGE button on the base until the IN USE light flashes, then press and hold the handset's # key.
  3. Set answering machine: Press ANS/PLAY on base to record your outgoing message (OGM).
  4. Program phonebook: Add entries via MENU > PHONEBOOK > ADD ENTRY.

Connecting Devices

Primarily connects to a standard analog telephone line. Can connect additional Panasonic KX-TGA cordless handsets.

  1. Ensure base power and telephone line are connected.
  2. To add a handset: Place new handset on the charging cradle of the base or an additional charger. Press and hold PAGE on base, then press # on handset.
  3. For headset use (optional): Plug compatible 2.5mm headset into handset jack.

Tip: Use a surge protector for the power and telephone line connections.

Using the Answering Machine

Digital system with remote access.

  1. Record Outgoing Message (OGM): Press ANS/PLAY on base, then REC/STOP after the beep. Speak your message, press REC/STOP again.
  2. Play Messages: Press ANS/PLAY on base. Use VOLUME to adjust playback level.
  3. Delete Messages: Press DELETE during or after playback.
  4. Record Memo: Press MEMO on base, speak after beep, press MEMO again to stop.
  5. Remote Operation: Call your number from outside, enter your remote access code (default is 1111) after OGM plays, follow voice prompts.

WARNING! Do not disconnect power or you may lose all messages.

Advanced Features

Call Block: Add numbers via MENU > CALL BLOCK. Intercom: Press INTERCOM on one handset, then dial the number of the other handset (e.g., 2). Speakerphone: Press SPEAKERPHONE during a call. Phonebook Dialing: Search entry and press TALK.

Care & Cleaning
