Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Choose a central location for the base unit.

  1. Charge the handset battery: Connect the AC adapter to the base and plug into a wall outlet. Place the handset on the base to charge for at least 7 hours before first use.
  2. Connect telephone line: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the base unit and the other end into your wall telephone jack.
  3. Register additional handsets: Follow the instructions in the manual to register up to 5 additional handsets to the base unit.
  4. Install belt clip (optional): Attach to the back of the handset.

WARNING! Use only the supplied Panasonic AC adapter and battery. Do not disassemble or short-circuit the battery.

First-Time Setup

After installation, configure the phone settings.

  1. Set date and time: Press MENU on the handset, navigate to SETTINGS > DATE & TIME, and set the current date and time.
  2. Set area code: In SETTINGS, set your local area code for proper caller ID display.
  3. Set ring tone and volume: Choose from available ring melodies and adjust volume levels for ringer, earpiece, and speakerphone.
  4. Set answering machine: Record your outgoing announcement (OGM) and set the number of rings before answering.

CAUTION! Keep the base unit and handsets away from other electronic devices (microwaves, routers) to prevent interference.

Access menus via the MENU button on the handset. Front of Handset: TALK/FLASH, OFF, DIR (directory), INTERCOM, VOLUME, MUTE, SPEAKERPHONE, numeric keypad.

Base Unit: PAGE button, IN USE indicator, CHARGE indicator.

Menu Settings: Date/Time, Ringer Settings, Phonebook, Caller ID List, Answering System Setup, Handset Registration, Tone/Pulse dialing, Language (English/Spanish/French). Special Features: Call Block, Any Key Answer, Auto Talk, ECO Mode On/Off.

Connecting Devices

Telephone Line: Standard RJ11 jack. Headset: 2.5mm jack on the side of the handset.

  1. Ensure the phone is turned off (handset not in TALK mode) before connecting a headset.
  2. Plug the headset connector firmly into the jack on the handset.
  3. To use, press the HEADSET button (if assigned) or the SPEAKERPHONE button during a call.

Tip: For best performance, place the base unit on a high, central location away from large metal objects.

Using the Answering Machine

The digital answering machine is integrated into the base unit.

  1. Record your greeting: Press MENU > ANSWERING SYSTEM > RECORD OGM. Speak clearly into the handset or base microphone.
  2. Set answer mode: Choose ANSWER ON to activate, or ANSWER OFF to deactivate the machine.
  3. Play messages: Press PLAY/STOP on the base or MENU > ANSWERING SYSTEM > PLAY MESSAGES on the handset.
  4. Remote retrieval: Call your number from an outside phone. When the OGM plays, enter your remote access code (default is 1111#).
  5. Delete messages: Press DELETE during or after message playback.

WARNING! Do not connect this answering system to a party line or a digital phone line (e.g., VoIP without an ATA adapter), as it may not function correctly.

Accessibility Features

Hearing Aid Compatible: Rated M3/T3. Ringer Volume: Adjustable up to high level. Visual Ringer Indicator: Flashing LED on handset and base. Any Key Answer: Can be enabled to answer a call by pressing any key (except OFF).

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the AC adapter before cleaning. Wipe the handset and base with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners or abrasives.
