Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on stable surface.

  1. Charge handset battery: Connect AC adapter to base and handset charger; place handset on base to charge for at least 7 hours before first use.
  2. Connect telephone line: Plug telephone line cord into base unit TEL LINE jack and wall jack.
  3. Power base unit: Plug base AC adapter into electrical outlet and DC connector into base.
  4. Install battery in handset: Insert battery pack, align contacts, attach cover.

WARNING! Use only supplied Panasonic adapters and battery. Do not disassemble or short-circuit battery.

First-Time Setup

Power on base and handset; follow prompts.

  1. Register handset to base: Place handset on base; registration usually automatic. If not, press and hold base PAGE button until IN USE light flashes, then press handset MENU to register.
  2. Set date and time: Use handset MENU > SETTINGS > DATE & TIME.
  3. Set answering machine: Record outgoing message (OGM) by pressing ANS/OGM on base, follow voice prompts.
  4. Program caller ID: Service subscription required; names/numbers display automatically if subscribed.

  3. Additional handsets: Register each to base following First-Time Setup.

Tip: Place base unit centrally for best range. Avoid metal obstructions.

Using the Answering Machine

  1. Record outgoing message (OGM): Press ANS/OGM on base, speak after beep, press again to stop.
  2. Play messages: Press PLAY/MSG on base or handset MENU > Answering System > Play Messages.
  3. Delete messages: Press DELETE during playback or from menu.
  4. Remote access: Call your number, after OGM press * and enter remote code (default 0000).
  5. Announce Only Mode: Set to play OGM only without recording messages.
  6. Message Window: Base shows number of new messages.

WARNING! Do not disconnect power or messages may be lost.

Accessibility Features

Ringer Volume: Adjustable in menu. Hearing Aid Compatible: Handset is HAC rated. Visual Ringer Indicator: Base IN USE light flashes. Speed Dial: Store up to 10 numbers in phonebook for quick dialing.
