Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on a flat, stable surface.

  1. Charge the handset: Insert battery, place handset on base for 7 hours initial charge.
  2. Connect telephone line: Plug line cord from wall jack to TEL LINE jack on base.
  3. Connect power: Plug AC adapter into base and electrical outlet.
  4. Install additional handsets: Register new handsets to base (see manual).

WARNING! Use only the supplied Panasonic AC adapter and battery. Do not disassemble or short-circuit the battery.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the system and configure basic settings.

  1. Set date and time: Press MENU on handset, select SETTINGS > DATE & TIME.
  2. Set language: In SETTINGS menu, select LANGUAGE (default ENGLISH).
  3. Program phonebook: Add entries via MENU > PHONEBOOK > ADD ENTRY.
  4. Set answering machine: Press ANS/PLAY on base to record greeting and set answer mode.

Connecting Devices

Telephone Line: Standard RJ11 cord. Headset: 2.5mm plug to headset jack on handset.

  1. Ensure phone is off (handset on base) before connecting.
  2. Plug line cord securely into wall jack and base unit.
  3. For headset, insert plug into jack on side of handset.

Tip: Use a surge protector for telephone line to protect against power surges.

Using the Answering Machine

Digital answering machine with remote access.

  1. Record greeting: Press and hold RECORD on base, speak, release.
  2. Set answer mode: Press ANS/PLAY repeatedly to cycle modes (ANS ON, ANS ON/TOLL SAVER, ANNOUNCE ONLY).
  3. Play messages: Press ANS/PLAY on base or handset.
  4. Delete messages: Press DELETE during playback.
  5. Remote access: Dial your number, after greeting, enter remote code (default 0000) to play messages.

WARNING! Do not disconnect power while answering machine is in use to avoid message loss.
