Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on a flat, stable surface.

  1. Charge the handset: Insert battery, place handset on base charger for 7 hours before first use.
  2. Connect telephone line: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the base, and the other end into a telephone wall jack.
  3. Connect power: Plug the AC power adapter into the DC IN 9V jack on the base and into an electrical outlet.
  4. Install additional handsets: Register new handsets to the base unit following the manual instructions.

WARNING! Use only the provided Panasonic AC adapter and battery. Do not disassemble or short-circuit the battery.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the base and handset.

  1. Set date and time: Press MENU on the handset, navigate to SETTINGS > DATE & TIME, and enter the current date and time.
  2. Set language: In the SETTINGS menu, select LANGUAGE and choose your preferred language (default is ENGLISH).
  3. Set answering system: Press MENU > ANSWERING SYSTEM to set greeting, number of rings, and message playback settings.
  4. Register handsets: For additional handsets, place on charger, press and hold the PAGE button on the base until the IN USE light flashes, then press and hold the handset LOCATOR button.

CAUTION! Ensure the base unit is placed away from other electronic devices to avoid interference.

Connecting Devices

Telephone Line: Use provided cord to wall jack. Headset: Plug compatible 2.5mm headset into handset jack.

  1. Ensure phone is off (not in TALK mode) before connecting.
  2. For headset use, plug in before turning on handset.
  3. To connect to a VoIP service, ensure your VoIP adapter is properly configured.

Tip: Use a surge protector for the AC adapter to protect against power surges.

Using the Answering Machine

Digital system records incoming messages.

  1. Record greeting: Press MENU > ANSWERING SYSTEM > RECORD GREETING, follow prompts.
  2. Set number of rings: MENU > ANSWERING SYSTEM > NUMBER OF RINGS (select 2 to 9).
  3. Play messages: Press PLAY/STOP on base or MENU > PLAY MESSAGES on handset.
  4. Delete messages: Press DELETE on base during playback or use handset menu.
  5. Remote access: Dial your number from outside, when greeting plays, enter your remote access code (default is 1111#).

WARNING! Do not disconnect power to the base unit, as this will erase all recorded messages.

Ringer Volume/Melody: Adjustable for hearing impaired. Large Backlit Buttons: Easier to see and press. Speed Dial: Store up to 9 numbers for quick dialing. Talking Keypad: Optional setting announces pressed numbers.
