Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on a stable, flat surface away from electronic interference.

  1. Charge the handset: Insert battery into handset, place on base unit charger for 7 hours before first use.
  2. Connect telephone line: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the base, the other end into a working telephone wall jack.
  3. Connect power: Plug the AC adapter into the DC IN 9V jack on the base, then into a 120V AC power outlet.
  4. Install additional handsets: Register each handset to the base following the registration procedure.

WARNING! Use only the supplied Panasonic AC adapter and battery. Do not place near water or heat sources.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the system and configure initial settings.

  1. Set date and time: Press MENU on handset, navigate to SETTINGS > DATE & TIME, enter current information.
  2. Set answering machine: Press ANS/PLAY on base to turn on; record your outgoing announcement by pressing MEMO/ANNC.
  3. Register handsets: On base, press and hold PAGE for about 5 seconds until IN USE light flashes. On handset, press and hold # until it beeps and shows registered.
  4. Set language: In MENU > SETTINGS > LANGUAGE, select ENGLISH (default).

  3. For additional devices (fax, modem), use a two-line splitter on the wall jack.

Tip: Keep base unit at least 3 feet away from other electronics (TV, microwave) to reduce interference.

Using the Answering Machine

Digital answering machine with remote access capability.

  1. Turn on/off: Press ANS/PLAY on base to toggle.
  2. Record announcement: Press and hold MEMO/ANNC, speak after beep, release to save.
  3. Play messages: Press ANS/PLAY; use VOLUME to adjust.
  4. Delete messages: Press DELETE during playback.
  5. Remote access: Dial your number from outside, when announcement plays, enter remote code (default 0000) followed by # to play messages.
  6. Set number of rings: In MENU > ANSWERING MACHINE > RINGS TO ANSWER, select 2, 4, or 6.

WARNING! Do not disconnect power or you may lose recorded messages. Save important messages elsewhere.
