Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on a flat, stable surface away from electronic interference.

  1. Charge the handset: Insert battery into handset, place on base charger for 7 hours before first use.
  2. Connect telephone line: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the base unit TEL LINE jack and the other end into a wall telephone jack.
  3. Connect power: Plug the AC power adapter into the base unit DC IN 9V jack and into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  4. Install additional handsets: Register each handset to the base following the manual instructions.

WARNING! Use only the provided Panasonic power adapter and battery. Do not disassemble or short-circuit the battery.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the system and configure basic settings.

  1. Set date and time: Press MENU on handset, navigate to SETTINGS > DATE & TIME.
  2. Set answering machine: Press MENU > ANSWERING MACHINE to set greeting, number of rings, etc.
  3. Set ringer volume and tone: Use VOLUME buttons and MENU > RINGER SETTINGS.
  4. Register handsets: Follow on-screen prompts or press and hold the PAGE button on the base.

CAUTION! Keep the base unit and charger away from heat sources and water.

Connecting Devices

Telephone Line: Standard RJ11 jack. Additional Devices: Can connect a fax machine or another phone in parallel (may require a splitter).

  1. Ensure base unit is unplugged from power before connecting line.
  2. Connect telephone line cord securely to wall jack and base.
  3. For additional devices, connect to the EXT jack on the base unit.

Tip: Use a surge protector for the power and telephone line to prevent damage from power spikes.

Using the Answering Machine

Digital answering machine with remote access.

  1. Record greeting: Press MENU > ANSWERING MACHINE > GREETING.
  2. Set rings to answer: MENU > ANSWERING MACHINE > RINGS TO ANSWER (2, 3, 4, Toll Saver).
  3. Play messages: Press PLAY/STOP on base or MENU > PLAY MESSAGES on handset.
  4. Delete messages: Press DELETE on base during playback or from handset menu.
  5. Remote access: Dial your number from an outside phone, press * during greeting, enter remote code (default 0000).

WARNING! Do not place the base unit near other electronic equipment to avoid recording interference.
