Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on a flat, stable surface away from electronic interference.

  1. Install batteries in handset: Open battery cover, insert batteries observing polarity, close cover.
  2. Connect telephone line: Plug one end of telephone cord into base unit LINE jack, other end into wall telephone jack.
  3. Connect power: Plug AC adapter into base unit DC IN 9V jack, then into AC outlet.
  4. Charge handset: Place handset on base unit charger; charge for at least 7 hours before first use.

WARNING! Use only Panasonic recommended batteries and adapter. Do not place near water or heat sources.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the system and follow these steps.

  1. Set time and date: Press MENU on handset, navigate to SETTINGS > TIME/DATE, enter current time and date.
  2. Set language: In SETTINGS menu, select LANGUAGE (default is ENGLISH).
  3. Register additional handsets: Place new handset on base, press and hold PAGE on base until IN USE light flashes, then press and hold # on handset until registration confirmed.
  4. Set answering machine: Press ANS ON/OFF on base to turn on; record outgoing message by pressing MEMO/OGM.

CAUTION! Ensure proper ventilation around base unit; do not cover during operation.

  3. For headset use, plug compatible 2.5mm headset into handset jack.

Tip: Use a surge protector for telephone line to prevent damage from power surges.

Using the Answering Machine

Digital answering machine with remote access.

  1. Turn on/off: Press ANS ON/OFF on base.
  2. Record outgoing message: Press and hold MEMO/OGM, speak after beep, release when finished.
  3. Set ring count: Press MENU on handset, navigate to ANSWERING > RINGS, select 2, 4, 6, or TOL (toll saver).
  4. Play messages: Press PLAY/STOP on base or remotely by calling home and entering remote code (default 111).
  5. Delete messages: During playback, press DELETE on base or press 7 remotely.
  6. Skip messages: Press SKIP during playback.

WARNING! Do not disconnect power while answering machine is in use to avoid message loss.
