Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on a stable, central surface.

  1. Charge handset battery: Connect AC adapter to base and outlet. Place handset on base to charge for at least 7 hours before first use.
  2. Connect telephone line: Plug one end of phone cord into base TEL LINE jack, other end into wall telephone jack.
  3. Install battery in handset: Open battery compartment, insert battery, close cover.
  4. Power on: Ensure base unit is plugged in. Handset will beep when properly seated on base.

WARNING! Use only the provided Panasonic AC adapter and battery. Do not disassemble or short-circuit the battery.

First-Time Setup

After installation, perform initial configuration.

  1. Set date and time: Press MENU on handset, navigate to SETTINGS > DATE & TIME.
  2. Register handsets: New handsets must be registered to the base. Place handset on base, press and hold HANDSET LOCATOR on base until IN USE light flashes.
  3. Set answering machine: Press ANS ON/OFF on base to turn on. Record outgoing message by pressing MEMO/OGM.
  4. Adjust volume and ringer: Use VOLUME buttons on handset. Set ringer type/level in MENU > RINGER SETTINGS.

CAUTION! Keep base unit away from heat sources and water. Ensure proper ventilation.

Connecting Devices

Telephone Line: Standard RJ11 cord to wall jack. Headset: 2.5mm plug to handset jack.

  1. Ensure phone is off (not in TALK mode) before connecting/disconnecting.
  2. Plug headset into jack on side of handset.
  3. To use headset, press TALK to answer a call; audio will route to headset automatically when plugged in.

Tip: For best performance, place base unit away from large metal objects and other electronics.

Using the Answering Machine

Digital system on base unit records incoming messages.

  1. Turn on/off: Press ANS ON/OFF on base.
  2. Record outgoing message (OGM): Press and hold MEMO/OGM, speak after beep, release button.
  3. Play messages: Press PLAY/SKIP on base. Use SKIP to jump to next message.
  4. Delete messages: Press DELETE during or after playback.
  5. Remote retrieval: Call your number from outside, when OGM plays, enter remote access code (default: 0000).
  6. Memo recording: Press MEMO/OGM briefly to record a memo for yourself.

WARNING! Power outage may erase messages if base is unplugged. Important messages should be saved elsewhere.
