Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on a flat, stable surface.

  1. Connect telephone line: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the base, and the other end into your wall telephone jack.
  2. Connect power: Plug the AC adapter into the DC IN 9V jack on the base and into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
  3. Install handset battery: Insert the supplied rechargeable battery into the handset, aligning the polarity. Place handset on base to charge for at least 7 hours before first use.
  4. Register additional handsets (if purchased separately): Follow the registration procedure in the manual.

WARNING! Use only the supplied Panasonic adapter. Do not place near other electronic devices that may cause interference.

First-Time Setup

After charging, power on the handset and follow prompts.

  1. Set date and time: Press MENU, navigate to SETTINGS > DATE & TIME, and enter current information.
  2. Set language: In SETTINGS menu, select LANGUAGE (default is ENGLISH).

Using the Answering Machine

  1. Record Outgoing Greeting (OGM): Press and hold ANS/PLAY on base until tone, speak greeting, press ANS/PLAY again to stop.
  2. Set Answer Mode: Press ANS ON/OFF on base to turn machine on (light on) or off.
  3. Play Messages: Press ANS/PLAY on base. Use VOLUME to adjust playback level.
  4. Delete Messages: Press DELETE during or after playback.
  5. Remote Playback: Call your number from outside, when OGM plays, enter your remote access code (default is 1111#). Follow voice prompts.
  6. Record Memo: Press MEMO/STOP on base, speak after tone.

WARNING! Power outage will erase all messages. Greeting is retained.

Call Block: Add numbers via MENU > CALL BLOCK. Intercom: Press INT on handset, then dial handset number (1-6) or base (0). Caller ID: Requires service from phone company; missed calls stored in CID list. Phonebook: Store, edit, or dial entries quickly.
