Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on a flat, stable surface away from electronic interference.

  1. Connect telephone line: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the base, and the other end into your wall telephone jack.
  2. Charge the handset: Place handset on the base unit cradle to charge for at least 7 hours before first use.
  3. Connect power: Plug the AC power adapter into the DC IN 9V jack on the base, then into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  4. Install battery: Remove battery cover, connect battery connector, replace cover (for initial setup).

WARNING! Use only the provided Panasonic AC adapter. Do not place near water or heat sources.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the system; follow prompts on handset display.

  1. Set date and time: Use MENU > Settings > Date & Time.
  2. Register handsets: Place new handset on base; press and hold the PAGE button on base until IN USE light flashes.
  3. Set answering machine: Record outgoing message (OGM) by pressing /ANSWER ON/OFF on base, then follow voice prompts.
  4. Adjust volume and ringer: Use VOLUME buttons and MENU > Settings > Ringer Tone.

Using the Answering Machine

  2. Play Messages: Press /PLAY/STOP on base or handset.
  3. Delete Messages: Press /DELETE during playback.
  4. Remote Access: Dial your number, when OGM plays, enter remote code (default 1111).
  5. Adjust Recording Time: Menu > Answering Machine > Recording Time.

WARNING! Do not disconnect power while answering machine is in use to avoid message loss.
