Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base unit on a flat, stable surface.

  1. Charge the handset: Insert battery into handset, place on base to charge for 7 hours before first use.
  2. Connect telephone line: Plug one end of phone cord into TEL LINE jack on base, other end into wall jack.
  3. Connect power: Plug AC adapter into DC IN 9V jack on base, then into electrical outlet.
  4. Install additional handsets (if applicable): Place on charger and allow to charge fully.

WARNING! Use only the provided Panasonic AC adapter and battery. Do not disassemble or short-circuit the battery.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the base and handset.

  1. Set time and date: Press MENU on handset, navigate to SETTINGS > TIME & DATE.
  2. Set language: In SETTINGS menu, select LANGUAGE (default is ENGLISH).
  3. Register handsets: If adding extra handsets, follow registration procedure in manual.
  4. Set answering machine: Record outgoing message; set number of rings before answer.

Connecting Devices

Telephone Line: Standard RJ11 cord to wall jack. Additional Handsets: Register via base unit.

  1. Ensure base unit is powered and connected to telephone line.
  2. For extra handsets, place on charger and follow registration steps in manual.
  3. For headset compatibility (if supported), use appropriate jack on handset.

Tip: Use a surge protector for telephone line to protect against power surges.

Using the Answering Machine

  1. Record outgoing message: Press MENU > ANSWERING SYSTEM > RECORD OGM.
  2. Set answer mode: Choose ANSWER ON, ANSWER ONLY, or OFF.
  3. Set rings to answer: Select 2, 4, 6, or TOL (toll saver).
  4. Play messages: Press PLAY/STOP on base or handset (if remote).
  5. Delete messages: Press DELETE during playback.
  6. Remote access: Call your number, enter remote access code (default 0000) after OGM.

WARNING! Do not place answering machine near magnetic fields which may erase messages.
